| The Occasional Swimmer's kit - consisting of a radio container,
a push to talk switch and a headset - is designed for special operations,
rescue, lifeguard , boating and users who require waterproof radio
communications. Both the radio and headset will be protected from
salt water to a depth of 66 feet.
The headset consists of earphone enclosed in a nylon housing and
a flexible boom microphone with a dynamic microphone. The headset
will not fall off in white water as it is held on user by an elastic
strap with touch fastener. The TASC I and Slimgard I headsets have
a slim profile for compatibility with helmets. The TASC II and
LITE headsets have a skinny earphone and will accommodate peripheral
hearing for close quarter battle applications.
You can select from a number of submersible press to talk (PTT)
switches which are supplied with a plastic clothing clamp to attach
to user's chest. The PTT button will withstand water pressures
up to two atmospheres to prevent false transmissions. An optional
volume control can be supplied on the PTT assembly.
The soft radio container is made of re-enforced nylon fabric material
and is lined with neoprene material for puncture resistance. A
waterproof zipper on the front of the radio container facilitates
the radio insertion and adjustment of radio volume and frequency
controls. Some containers accommodate most portable radios with
antenna and battery connected. Other containers to accommodate
larger Manpack radios (see photo) have external antenna capability
and can be supplied with a pliable plastic covered window so users
can see and manipulate radio controls.
The radio containers are equipped with plastic clips on 4 corners
and webbing for mounting on user's back or waist. |
