The Universal PTT also accommodates both high and low
impedance headsets. Radios such as the MBITR PRC148 and certain aircraft
intercom
systems provide optimal volume and clarity when used with a low impedance
8-ohm headset. The PRC117D, however, requires high impedance headsets
(600 ohm). This PTT will switch to low impedance when activated by
a DCV signal from either the radio or an external source but is connected
directly to the high impedance headsets when needed.
This makes the
interfacing of a wide variety of platforms possible using this
PTT. The independent channels allow adapter cables to be configured
for
most
types of radios and intercom systems. |
